Malang is the second largest city inEast Java province, Indonesia. It has an ancient history dating back to the Mataram Kingdom. Balekambang Beach
Balekambang beach is one of tourism icons in Malang, because the beach has beautiful enchantment and looks like beach in Bali. Some people say that the view of Balekambang beach is similar with that of Tanah Lot Beach. At Balekambang Beach, there are 3 small islands which lie side by side. They are Ismoyo island, Anoman Island and Wisanggeni island.
Balekambang beach is located at Srigonco village, Bantur sub-district, Malang, East Java. It is located approximately 69 kilometers from the center of Malang city. It takes 2 hours to get to Balekambang Beach from Malang City. Along the way to Belekambang beach, you will pass teak forests and sugar cane plantations, because there is also Sugar Factory. Even though you go to the beach, you have to go down and go up the road. No wonder, because Malang is a mountainous area.
After you go up and down the road, and you will arrive at Balekambang beach and will be welcomed by a sparkling white sand, white waves rolling up to the beach, and blue sea water which will make you amazed with its beauty. Balekambang belongs to South Coastal area so that the waves are categorized ferocious waves. Therefore, it is not allowed to swim at the beach. The prohibition is marked with a red flag, so it can be seen clearly even from a distance. Besides white sand, another interesting charm is coral island which from the distance is like a snail. This island can be reached by crossing through a concrete bridge along 100 meter. This coral island also becomes a hiding place of marine biota.
To reach Balekambang beach, you can through Gongdanglegi and Bantur sub-district, then continued to Srigono village or through Kepanjen sub-district which can be accessed by private cars or motorcycle. While if you use public transportation, you have to go to Gadang terminal, then take public transportation to Bantur. From Bantur, you have to rent a motorcycle taxi or ojek to Balekambang beach by paying around Rp. 30,000-Rp. 40,000. The entrance fee to Balekambang beach is Rp. 7,000.At Balekambang beach there are also souvenir stalls, restaurants, information center and also a swimming pool, and parking area.If you love camping, there is also a camping ground at Balekambang beach, so in addition to enjoy the natural beauty in the afternoon and evening, you can also enjoy the beauty of Balekambang beach at night.
